Walker Speaks Out Against Price Gouging During COVID-19 Crisis

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – With an increased need for food, medicine, cleaning supplies and other critical items to be available, state Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, is speaking out against reports of price gouging across Illinois.

“Unfortunately, we’ve been hearing too many stories of businesses and unethical people raising their prices on important supplies across the state,” Walker said. “It’s wrong that people would try to take make more money off the backs of vulnerable individuals in these difficult times.”

If you see examples of price gouging, Walker encourages you to report it to the Illinois Attorney General’s office at www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov. They have an easy-to-use reporting form to determine if price gouging is occurring and can take legal action to stop it.

“We need to come together now more than ever,” Walker said. “If you see unethical practices, please report them. I’m confident we can weather this storm, but only if our communities come together to help one another.”

Residents can find more information on what to do about price gouging and updates on the state’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak on Walker’s website at www.staterepwalker.com/coronavirus.
